Built in 1981, by Offshore Shipbuilders Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #4) as the Courier for Velvet Marine Contractors Incorporated of Hahnville, Louisiana.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by G and B Marine Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Austin C. Gambarella.

In 1996, she was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Mohawk Eagle.

In 2001, the tug was acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Delta Tradition.

In 2010, she was acquired by Gulf Coast Tugs Incorporated of LaRose, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Larry J. Hebert.

Powered by two, GM Detroit Diesel 16V-149 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MB-540 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. Turing two, 72(in) by 72(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,600 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by one, 45kW, John Deere generator set. And one, 40kW, Detroit Diesel generator set. The tug's capacities are 52,000 gallons of fuel, 2,000 gallons of lube oil, 500 gallons of hydraulic oil, and 9,000 gallons of potable water.

The towing equipment consists of an INTERcon DW-150, double drum towing winch. Outfitted with 2,300(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire on the primary drum. And, 1,800(ft) of 1.5(in) towing wire on the secondary drum.
