GULF DUKE

Built in 1977, by Quality Shipyards Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #137) as the Gulf Duke for Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1978, Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated became Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1992, Zapata Gulf Marine Incorporated merged with Tidewater Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Crosby Courage.

Powered by two, EMD 16-645E7 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAV 3400 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5:1. Turning two, four bladed, 120(in) by 124.8(in), stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in kort nozzles, for a rated 5,570 horsepower. The tug is also outfitted with a single, 350 horsepower bow thruster. Driven by a dedicated, GM 12V-71 diesel engine.

Her electrical service is provided by 99kW, generator sets. Driven by two, GM 8V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 169,600 gallons of fuel oil, 3,115 gallons of lube oil, 38,095 gallons of cargo water and 26,145 gallons of potable water.

The tug's towing gear consists of a double drum, INTERcon SBS DD-225, towing winch. Outfitted with 4,100(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire on each drum,
