WEBB CROSBY (1967)

Built in 1967, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #194) as the Lady Jill for the Belle Pass Towing Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana.

In 2014, the Belle Pass Towing Company was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Webb Crosby.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by the Next Generation Marine Company of Metairie, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Compass Stallion.

In 2021, she was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Crosby Challenger.

In 2021, the tug was phased out of active service and was "laid up" at Port Fourchon, Louisiana.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3516 TA diesel engines. With Western reduction gears, at a ratio of 6.2:1. Turning two, four bladed, stainless steel, propellers, for a rated 6,000 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 50kW generator sets. Driven by two, GM 4 V-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 60,000 gallons of fuel, 12,000 gallons of potable water, and 1,000 gallons of lube oil.

The towing gear consists of an INTERcon, double drum towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 1.75(in) towing cable on each drum.
