Built in 1944, by Ackerman Boat of Newport Beach, California as the Daring for the United States Navy.

The tug was later acquired by McAllister Brothers Towing of New York, New York. Where she retained her name.

In 1960, she was sold. Where she was renamed as the Anna Gore.

In 1971, the tug was acquired by Seaspan Marine of North Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. Where she was renamed as the Seaspan Daring.

In 1986, she was sold. Where she was renamed as the Daring I. However, the tug is no longer listed in documentation. Her current and or final disposition is unknown.

Originally powered by a single Fairbanks-Morse diesel engine rated at 450 horsepower. The tug was repowered with a single Caterpillar diesel engine for a rated 1,000 horsepower.
