
Built in 1939, by the Gulfport Shipbuilding Corporation of Port Arthur, Texas (hull #131) as the General for the Card Towing Company of Norfolk, Virginia.
In 1939, prior to her completion the Card Towing Company renamed the tug as the Raymond Card.
On September 20th, 1940 the tug was acquired by the United States Navy. Where she was designated as the YN-37 (Keshena). She was allocated to the 10th Naval District at Naval Station Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
On April 4th, 1942 the tug was redesignated as the YNT-5 (Keshena).
On August 4th, 1945 she was redesignated as the YTM-731 (Keshena).
On August 28th, 1946 the tug was struck from the Naval Record. And on February 12th, 1947 she was transferred to the United States Maritime Commission for sale.
In 1947, she was acquired by the McAllister Brothers Towing Company of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Mary L. McAllister.
In 1981, the tug was acquired by the Zenith Tugboat Company of Duluth, Minnesota. Where she was renamed as the Seneca.
In 1991, the tug was acquired by Billington Contracting Incorporated of Duluth, Minnesota. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2006, she foundered under tow during inclement weather on Lake Superior and the tug was beached near Grand Marais, Michigan. The tug was Salvaged and towed to Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. Her current and or final disposition is unknown.
Powered by a single, EMD 12-527A diesel electric engine. She was a single screw tug, rated 950 horsepower.
