Built in 1982, by McDermott Shipyard of Amelia, Louisiana (hull #270) as the Marion Moran for the Moran Towing Company of New York, New York.

In 2021, the tug was acquired by Dann Marine Towing Company of Chesapeake City, Maryland. Where the tug was renamed as the Topaz Coast.

Powered by two, twelve cylinder, EMD 12-645-E7B diesel engines. With Falk 1635-MRSDC-ES reduction gears. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 4,600 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW generator sets. Driven by two, Detriot Diesel 6-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacites are 100,000 gallons of fuel, 2,140 gallons of lube oil, 1691 gallons of waste oil, and 4,200 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of a single drum, Markey towing winch. Outfitted with 2,000(ft) of 2.25(in) towing wire.
