BAYOU EAGLE (1979)

Built in 1979, by the Berry Brothers General Contractors of Berwick, Louisiana (hull #6) as the Comanche for the Indian Towing Company of New Orleans, Louisiana.

The tug was later acquired by the Gellatly Petroleum and Towing Corporation of Hopewell Junction, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Mary Gellatly.

In 1991, the tug was acquired by Double Eagle Marine Incorporated of New Iberia, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Bayou Eagle.

In 2004, she was acquired by the Delta Towing Company of Houma, Louisiana. Where the tug was renamed as the Delta Bengal.

In 2011, the Delta Towing Company was acquired by the Crosby Marine Transportation Company of Golden Meadow, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2013, she was acquired by the General Electric Corporation of Albany, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the HR Pike. And, the tug was rebuilt with a retractable wheelhouse.

In 2015, the tug was acquired by the Coeymans Marine Towing Company of Ravena, New York. Where she retained her name.

In 2015, Coeymans Marine Towing renamed the tug as the Pike.

In 2016, Coeymans Marine Towing renamed the tug as the CMT Pike.

In 2023, the company was rebranded as the Carver Marine Towing Company. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA-19 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG 527 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.17:1. Turning two, 60(in) by 44(in) by 6(in), fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 33kW generator sets. Driven by two, Detroit Diesel 3-71 diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 12,500 gallons of fuel, 300 gallons of lube oil, 50 gallons of hydraulic oil, 2,000 gallons of waste oil, and 6,000 gallons of potable water.
