
Built in 2016, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #452) as the Mr. Ruben for the Bisso Towboat Company Incorporated of Luling, Louisiana.
The tug was named for Ruben Dupre, Jr. The Vice President of Engineering for the Bisso Towboat Company, who retired from the company in 2015.
In 2025, the company was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.
The Mr. Ruben, like the Becky S. featured design changes from her predecessors. That included the addition of a mud room aft of the galley. The engine room stairs were redesigned to run stern to bow, as well as the the addition of a half bath aft of the galley.
Powered by two, Tier III complaint, Caterpillar 3516C diesel engines. With two Rolls Royce US20SFP z-drives. Turning two, 90.6(in) diameter, by 82.4(in) pitch, four bladed, stainless steel propellers. She is a twin screw tractor tug, rated at 4,480 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW Marathon generator sets. Driven by two, John Deere diesel engines. The tug's capacities are 30,163 gallons of diesel fuel, 1,826 gallons of lube and hydraulic oil, and 10,938 gallons of potable water.
Her deck equipment consists of a JonRie INTERtech 230, hydraulic winch mounted on her bow outfitted with 500(ft) of 8(in) Saturn 12 line.
