Built in 1957, by Jakobson Shipyard Incorporated of Oyster Bay, New York (hull #376) as the Frances Turecamo for the Turecamo Harbor and Coastal Towing Corporation of New York, New York.
In 1998, the Turecamo Harbor and Coastal Towing Corporation was acquired by Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2007, the tug was acquired by Steven C. Tureman Halfmoon, New York. Where the tug retained her name. And, the tug was restored to her original wood grain paint scheme.
In 2008, she was acquired by Joseph Zenovic III of Halfmoon, New York. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2009, the tug was placed into the care of the North River Tugboat Museum of Waterford, New York. Where she retained her name.
In 2012, the tug was acquired by the New York State Marine Highway Transportation Company of Troy, New York. Where she was renamed as the Fances.
She is a single screw tug, rated at 1,640 horsepower.
