Built in 1973, by Putnam Shipbuilding of Palatka, Florida (hull #3) as the William W. Sprague.

In 1990, the tug was acquired by the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where she was renamed as the Mary Loy Turecamo.

In 1998, the Turecamo Coastal and Harbor Towing Corporation was acquired by the Moran Towing Corporation of New Canaan, Connecticut. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by the New York State Marine Highway Transportation Company of Troy, New York. Where she was renamed as the Mary Kay. And was "laid up" at Albany, New York.

She is a twin screw tug, rated at 2,400 horsepower.
