Built in 1976, by Quality Shipyards Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #131) as the Gulf Cajun for Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas.

In 1978, Gulf Mississippi Marine Incorporated became Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1985, Zapata Marine Service, Gulf Fleet Marine Incorporated, and Jackson Marine Services merged to form Zapata Gulf Marine Service Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1992, Zapata Gulf Marine Incorporated merged with Tidewater Marine Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2004, the tug was acquired by the Dahl Tug and Barge Company of Seattle, Washington. Where she was renamed as Pacific Master.

In 2007, she was acquired by the Brusco Tug and Barge Company of Longview, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Gulf Cajun.

Powered by two, sixteen cylinder, EMD 16-645E2 diesel engines. Turning two, cast steel, fixed pitch, propellers, mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,900 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 99kW generator sets. The tug's capacities are 151,899 gallons of fuel.

Her towing equipment consists of an INTERcon, double drum, DD-300 towing winch.
