Built in 1993, by Fashion Blacksmithing of Crescent City, California (hull #117016) as the Pono for the Sause Brothers Ocean Towing Company of Portland, Oregon.

Powered by two, MDEC 16V2000 diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF 660 reduction gears, at a ratio 5.95:1. Turning two, four bladed, 80(in) by 70(in, right and left, outboard turning, fixed pitch propellers. Mounted in 37A nozzles kort nozzles, with quad rudders. For a rated 2,200 horsepower.

Her electrical service is provided by two, 75kW, John Deere 6068 AFM, generator sets. The tug's capacities are 22,500 gallons of fuel, and 1,100 gallons of water.

The towing equipment consists of an INTERcon, single drum, SD-175 towing winch, with gypsy head. Outfitted with 1,600(ft) of 1.75(in) towing wire.
