PORTLAND
Built in 1963 by San Diego Marine Construction of San Diego, Calfornia (hull #136) as the Mauna Loa.
In 1968, she was acquired by the Washington Tug and Barge Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug was renamed as the Alapul.
In 1979, the Washington Tug and Barge Company was acquired by the Knappton Towboat Company of Astoria, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Portland.
In 1988, the Knappton Towboat Company was rebranded as the Brix Maritime Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug retained her name.
The tug was later acquired by the American Navigation Company of San Francisco, California. Where she retained her name.
In 1998, she was acquired by Alaska-Oregon Offshore Marine Incorporated of North Bend, Oregon. Where the tug was renamed as the Mauna Loa.
In 2004, the tug was acquired by Salmon Bay Barge Lines Incorporated of Seattle, Washington. Where she retained her name.
She is a single screw tug, rated at 2,200 horsepower.
