Powered by two, twelve cylinder, Tier III complaint, EMD 12-710G7C-TC diesel engines. With Reintjes WAF 3455 reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.091:1. Turning two, Sound Propeller Services, 135(in), three-bladed, fixed pitch propellers, mounted in Nautican kort nozzles. For a rated 6,000 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 175kW, Magna Plus generator sets. With a third, auxiliary 175kW, Magna Plus generator set. The tug's capacities are 168,278 gallons of fuel, 6,868 gallons of lube oil, 26,945 gallons of water, and 33,814 gallons of ballast.
The tug outfitted with an Articouple KVC-6068 coupler system. And, is "married" with the 461(ft), by 90(ft), by 36(ft), dry cargo barge the Margo Dale. Which was constructed simultaneously in 2013, by Signal International Shipyard of Orange, Texas for the Kirby Corporation. The barge is outfitted with Schottel SRJ220, pump jet bow thrusters.
