Built in 1983, by the Dravo Corporation of Neville Island, Pennsylvania (hull #8682) as the Bronwynne Brent for the Brent Towing Company Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 2003, she was acquired by Jantran Incorporated of Rosedale, Mississippi. Where the tug was renamed as the City of Cleveland.

Powered by two, GE 7FDM12 diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.21:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, with kort nozzles. For a rated 6,000 horsepower.
