Built in 1980, by Bayou Shipyard Incorporated of Bridge City, Texas as the Miss Brandy for B and B Marine Associates Incorporated of Bridge City, Texas.

In 1982, the tug was acquired by Alamo Barge Lines Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Alamo Courage.

In 1985, she was acquired by Hollywood Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Courage.

In 1998, the tug was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Connie Jean.

In 2008, she was acquired by the St. Louis Boat and Barge Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where the tug was renamed as the Jack Rose.

Powered by two, Detroit Diesel series 60 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
