Built in 1982, by the Sherman Shipyard of Panama City, Florida as the Dan L. for the Arthur-Smith Corporation of Houston, Texas.

In 1987, the tug was acquired by Hollywood Marine Incorporated of Houston, Texas. Where she retained her name.

In 1999, she was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2018, the tug was acquired by Russell Marine Incorporated of Channelview, Texas. Where she was renamed as the Laurel Beth.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA19-M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
