Built in 1991, by Steel Boats Incorporated of Mobile, Alabama (hull #180) as the Ted B. for Capital Towing Limited of Houston, Texas.

In 2006, she was acquried by the the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name. But, was operated by Capital Towing Limited of Houston, Texas.

In 2012, she was returned to the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2016, the tug was acquired by the Danielle Marine Towing Company of Cut Off, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Capt. Bill Guidry.

Powered by two, Caterpillar 3508 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.6:1. She is a twin screw, towboat, with kort nozzles, for a rated 1,800 horsepower.
