Built in 1965, by Diamond Manufacturing of Savannah, Georgia (hull #247) as the Marion Moran for the Moran Towing Corporation of New York, New York.

In 1968, the tug was transferred to the Moran Towing Corporation affiliate the Curtis Bay Towing Company of Baltimore, Maryland. Where she was renamed as the Cape Henry.

In 1976, she was transferred to the Moran Towing Corporation of New York, New York. Where the tug was renamed as the Helen B. Moran.

In 2022, the tug was acquired by an undisclosed interest based in Belize. She was a twin screw tug, rated at 3,200 horsepower.
