Built in 1980, by Balehi Marine Incorporated of Lacombe, Louisiana (hull #27) as the Kathy Pawg for Pawg Marine Incorporated New Orleans, Louisiana.
The tug was later acquired by T.L. James and Company Incorporated of St. Rose, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.
In 1998, she was acquired by Weeks Marine Incorporated of Cranford, New Jersey. Where the tug retained her name.
Re powered in 2003, the tug is driven by two Caterpillar 3406 diesel engines. With Twin Disc MG-514-C and B reduction gears, at a 6.00:1. Turning two, 62(in) by 48(in), four bladed, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 800 horsepower.
Her electrical service is provided by two, 20kW Northern Lights/M20CR generator sets. The tug's capacities are 11,486 gallons of fuel, 110 gallons of lube oil, and 8,096 gallons of water.
