Built in 1969, by Bethlehem Steel Company of Sparrows Point of Baltimore, Maryland (hull #4626) as the Penn Champion for Penn Maritime.

In 1974, she was sold and renamed as the Ogden Champion .

In 1985, the unit was renamed the OMI Champion .

In 1994, she was renamed as the Champion .

She was scrapped 1999.
