Built in 1972, by the Houma Shipbuilding Company of Houma, Louisiana (hull #46) as the Miss Verna for the Spanier Marine Corporation of Harvey, Louisiana.
In 1979, the tug was acquired by Martin and Schieffler Offshore Marine Incorporated of Belle Chasse, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Mr. Chris.
In 1983, she was acquired by Lumar Marine Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana. Where the tug was rename as the Tako Renegade.
In 2017, the tug was acquired by Savage Marine Services Incorporated of Salt Lake City, Utah. Where she was renamed as the Renegade.
In 2020, Savage Marine Services Incorporated was acquired by the Kirby Corporation of Channelview, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2020, she was acquired by CLM Marine Incorporated of Mauriceville, Texas. Where the tug retained her name.
Powered by two, GM 12V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.15:1. Turning two, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
