Built in 1955, by Marine Welding and Repair Works Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #4) as the Ben McCool for the Greenville Towing Company Incorporated of Greenville, Mississippi.
In 1992, the tug was acquired by the Cenac Towing Company Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she was renamed as the Jean Pierre Cenac.
In 1994, she was rebuilt as a triple screw tug by the Cenac Towing Company.
In 2008, the tug was acquired by Teppco Marine Services Incorproated of Houma, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.
In 2009, she was acquired by Enterprise Marine Services Incorporated of San Antonio, Texas. Where the tug was renamed as the Jean Pierre.
In 2012, the tug was acquired by Tesza Marine Incorporated of Winter Park, Florida. Where she retained her name. However, the tug was sent to Columbia where she was dropped from domestic documentation. Her current, and or final disposition is unknown.
She was powered by three, Cummins KTA38-M1 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. Turning three, stainless steel, fixed pitch propellers. She is a triple screw towboat, rated at 1,000 horsepower.
