Built in 1970 by Western Marine Construction Incorporated at Seattle, Washington as the O & M No 3 (hull #S-56) for in-house use.

The tug was later acquired by Wayne Construction Incorporated of Seattle, Washington. Where she was renamed as the Jena.

Eventually she was acquired by the Island Tug and Barge Company of Seattle, Washington. Where the tug was renamed as the Alison S.

In 2015, the tug was acquired by the Northwest Marine Equipment Leasing Company of Anacortes, Washington. Where she retained her name.
