
Built in 1982, by Bay Shipbuilding Incorporated of Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin (hull #732) as the Amoco Michigan for the Amoco Shipping Company of Wilmington, Delaware.
In 1985, the unit was transferred to the Coastwise Trading Company, a subsidiary of Shipping Company of Wilmington, Delaware. And was managed by the Keystone Shipping Corporation of Bala Cynwyd, Pennsylvania. Where the tug was renamed as the Michigan.
In 2010, the tug was acquired by the Chicago Marine Asset Management Company of Chicago, Illinois. Where she retained her name.
In 2011, she was acquired by the U.S. Oil Corporation of Appleton, Wisconsin. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2015, she was outfitted with Articouple coupler system.
In 2018, Andrie Incorporated of Muskegon, Michigan was contracted to man, and manage the unit.
Powered by two, EMD 6-645-E6 diesel engines. She is a twin screw tug, rated at 3,900 horsepower.
