Built in 1972, by the Rayco Shipbuilders and Repairs Company of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #26) as the Hiawatha for Stepper Towing Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by John W. Stone Oil Distributor LLC. of Gretna, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, GM 12V-71 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 6:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 800 horsepower.
