Built in 1982, by the Rayco Shipbuilders and Repairs Company of Bourg, Louisiana (hull #91) as the Moose for Stepper Towing Incorporated of Harvey, Louisiana.

In 2006, the tug was acquired by John W. Stone Oil Distributor LLC. of Gretna, Louisiana. Where she retained her name.

Repowered in 2000, she is driven by two GM 12V-149 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears at a ratio of 6.11:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,350 horsepower.
