Built in 1965, by the Nashville Bridge Company of Nashville, Tennessee (hull #1661) as the Pat Chotin for Chotin Transportation Incorporated of New Orleans, Louisiana.
In 1973, the tug was acquired by Midland Enterprises Incorporated of Cincinnati, Ohio. Where she was renamed as the Pat C.
In 2003, she was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where the tug retained her name.
In 2009, the Ingram Barge Company renamed the tug as the David G. Sehrt.
Powered by three, GM 16-645E7B diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.48:1. Turning two, fixed pitch propellers mounted in kort nozzles. She is a triple screw towboat, rated at 8,400 horsepower.
