Built in 1973, by the Houma Shipbuilding Company of Houma, Louisiana (hull #50) as the Miss Denise for Velvet Marine Systems Incorporated of Hahnville, Louisiana.

In 1974, the tug was acquired by Midland Enterprises Incorporated of Cincinnati, Ohio. Where she was renamed as the Addis.

In 1996, she was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where the tug retained her name.

Powered by two, Cummins KTA19-M3 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.17:l. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
