Built in 1974, by the LeMay Barge and Supply Company of Greenville, Mississippi (hull #329) as the Victor II for Helena Marine Service Incorporated of Helena, Arkansas.

In 1983, the tug was acquired by the Power Transportation Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where she was renamed as the Ann B.

In 1987, the Power Transportation Company was merged into the Mid-America Transportation Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where the tug retained her name.

In 1990, she was acquired by the Mid-South Towing Company of Metropolis, Illinois. Where the tug was renamed as the Ann Peters.

In 2002, the Mid-South Towing Company became the TECO Barge Line Incorporated Metropolis, Illinois. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2007, she was acquired by R.J. Boat and Barge Incorporated of Paducah, Kentucky. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2008, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she retained her name.

In 2010, the Ingram Barge Company renamed the tug as the Arthur J. Carson.

Rebuilt and repowerd in 2008, she is driven by two Cummins QSK50 II diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio 3.24:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 2,400 horsepower.
