Built in 1981, by the Louis G. Ortis Boat Company of Krotz Springs, Louisiana (hull #143) as the Big Sallee for Deloach Marine Service Incorporated of Port Allen, Louisiana.

In 1988, the tug was acquired by American Commercial Lines LLC. of Jeffersonville, Indiana. Where she was renamed as the Ted W. Ewing.

In 2009, she was acquired by Deloach Marine Services LLC. of Port Allen, Louisiana. Where the the tug retained her name.

In 2009, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, GM 16V-92 diesel engines. With Twin Disc reduction gears, at a ratio of 7:1. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,200 horsepower.
