Built in 1973, by St. Louis Ship of St. Louis, Missouri (hull #3300) as the Gloria G. for the Apex Towing Company of St. Louis, Missouri.

In 1995, the tug was acquired by the Midwest Marine Management Company of St. Louis, Missouri. Where she was renamed as the Midwest Legend.

In 1998, she was acquired by the Mid-South Towing Company of Metropolis, Illinois. Where the tug was renamed as the Legend.

In 2002, the Mid-South Towing Company became the TECO Barge Line Incorporated Metropolis, Illinois. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2012, she was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where the tug retained her name.

In 2015, the Ingram Barge Company renamed the tug as the Eleanor G. McDonald.

Powered by two, GM 16-645E7B diesel engines. With Falk reduction gears, at a ratio of 4.345:1. Turning two, fixed pitch propeller mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 6,000 horsepower.
