Built in 1972, by Main Iron Works Incorporated of Houma, Louisiana (hull #271) as the Rita for Midland Enterprises Incorporated of Cincinnati, Ohio.

In 2002, the tug was acquired by the Ingram Barge Company of Nashville, Tennessee. Where she retained her name.

Powered by two, Caterpillar D3508C diesel engines. With Caterpillar reduction gears, at a ratio of 5.17:1. Turning two, fixed pitch propellers mounted in kort nozzles. She is a twin screw towboat, rated at 1,800 horsepower.
